The SCNG Guild is walking out, and we need your help to succeed.
We are journalists at the 11 daily newspapers owned by the Southern California News Group, and we’ve been bargaining a union contract with management for nearly two years. We’re proud of the gains we’ve made to improve our day-to-day working conditions, but management continues to try to stonewall us in negotiations over pay. We’ve urged them to cease unfair labor practices and bargain with us in good faith to provide a living wage for every SCNG worker.
We unionized because we believe in local news. We’re walking out for the same reason. We deserve wages that let us live in the communities we cover. And our communities deserve a healthy local news landscape.
