Hugo Martin: Solidarity from a Guild journalist

During my 33-year career at the Los Angeles Times, I have survived several rounds of layoffs, sections killed and staff reassigned. Until the editorial staff of the paper unionized, we did not have a seat at the table when those decisions were made. We do now. We have a voice in the future of this paper. Hugo Martin is a reporter at the Los Angeles Times and member of the L.A. Times Guild. He serves as an officer at large for the Media Guild of the West.
